Oslo Airport City

Project Credit: Haptic Architects

“Oslo Airport City aims to be the first energy-positive development of its type in the world, and is located on a 370-hectare site adjacent to the Gardemoen Airport, 40km north-east of the city centre” – Haptic Architects

Nick Elias worked with Haptic director Tomas Stokke for several years on developing the architectural vision for the city as part of Haptic Architects. The design portfolio for the project is extensive and thorough, a portion of which is presented on Haptic’s website here.

“Haptic is working on the project in collaboration with Nordic, architects of both the original airport and more recent extensions, as well as engineers Buro Happold and Ipax… With the airport’s workforce predicted to increase to 40,000 by 2050, the city will provide homes for a community of long-term residents alongside cargo, logistic and commercial uses, and accommodation for shorter-stay visitors passing through the transport hub.” – Haptic Architects
